Campus Care Coordinator

Torrey Pines Church (La Jolla, CA)

Join our team and help create a welcoming, safe, and ministry-ready campus where people can connect, worship, and grow! The Campus Care Coordinator brings together volunteers, staff, ministry teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure our spaces are clean, organized, functional, and ready for Sunday services, weekly ministries, meetings, and special events. This hands-on coordination role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and helping ministry happen behind the scenes.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Reports directly to the Life Development Pastor at Torrey Pines Church. The employee seeks authorization for broad scope of tasks and communicates regularly with supervisors regarding priorities, repairs, expenses, and campus needs.

SCOPE & DIMENSIONS:

Work and serve alongside staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, vendors, and contractors to ensure church facilities are clean, safe, organized, and prepared for ministry. Develops systems that increase ministry capacity while building volunteer ownership of recurring campus responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Campus Care & Weekly Maintenance (40%)

  • Conduct regular campus walkthroughs.
  • Identify, prioritize, and coordinate facility repairs and maintenance.
  • Complete basic handyman tasks within ability.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors for specialized work.
  • Ensure campus cleanliness, trash removal, supply inventory, storage organization, and facility readiness.
  • Prepare the campus for weekly ministry activities.
  • Communicate facility needs and project updates to supervisors.


Sunday Campus Readiness & Operations (25%)

  • Oversee Sunday morning campus readiness.
  • Coordinate weekend attendance tracking and the collection and processing of tithes and offerings.
  • Ensure ministry spaces, entrances, restrooms, and gathering areas are prepared.
  • Coordinate volunteers assisting with setup, room resets, trash, and campus care.
  • Respond to facility needs during services.
  • Ensure rooms are restored following Sunday ministry.


Volunteer Leadership & Team Development (30%)

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteers.
  • Create clear expectations and simple systems.
  • Develop volunteers who can own recurring campus responsibilities.
  • Build sustainable teams rather than relying solely on staff.


Operations Administration (5%)

  • Maintain the overall church calendar, coordinate campus events, and manage room scheduling.
  • Maintain facility records and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate attendance counting procedures.
  • Update assigned information within Rock RMS.
  • Support operational communication as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, demonstrating a mature and growing faith through both personal life and conduct.
  • Must complete the Torrey Pines Church Membership Class and become an active member in good standing within 90 days of employment.
  • Must successfully complete the Rooted discipleship experience within 90 days of employment.
  • Minimum two years of experience in facilities, operations, maintenance, ministry, or administration.
  • Experience performing basic handyman and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers.
  • Ability to prioritize work within a part-time schedule.
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Rock RMS preferred.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in staff meetings and church-wide events as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is 100% onsite at Torrey Pines Church unless otherwise approved by a supervisor.
  • Regular Sunday morning attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Physical responsibilities may include moving tables and chairs, receiving deliveries, emptying trash, organizing storage areas, setting up ministry environments, and performing light to moderate maintenance work.
  • Some evenings and weekends are required based on ministry events.
  • Church staff are expected to abide by the Cultural Expectations of Torrey Pines Church.

  • As a staff person at Eastlake Community Church, I agree to abide by all the provisions of the Employee Handbook.
  • The Church reserves the right, at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job responsibilities, reassign or transfer job positions, or assign additional job responsibilities.
  • This position is classified by the Church as a Part-Time paid position and is Non-Exempt from the overtime provisions, as stated in Employee Handbook.
